General Impression & Note |
The conversion represents a late model Brummbar and is provided as a single piece upper hull. It's designed for use with the Esci Brummbar and requires the lower hull and main gun from that kit. Late Brummbars generally had 4 or 8 steel wheels per side. Surprisingly these aren't included in the set and will have to be taken from other kits or scratchbuilt." The general dimension are good when compared to plans in the Kagero Photosniper book on the Brummbar, although the glacis plate is slightly too long. This enables it to fit any of the Esci / Italeri PzIV lower hulls. It's probably possible to combine the piece with the Revell PzIV kit, although the glacis plate and possibly the engine deck would need to be removed. The Revell items could then be used instead. The main gun would also have to be found elsewhere. The details are sharp and well done, although a few items, most notably the right side air ventillation cover on the superstructure roof need repositioning slightly. Excellent plans can be found in the Kagero book to help with this. Alex Clark |
