Soviet Army WW2 tank markings in 1/72 scale
Name | Soviet Army WW2 tank markings |
Manufacturer | Scale Model Accessories-Small Scale Productions, Great Britain |
Packing | plactic bag |
Model type | dry transfers |
Quality | Small dry transfers sheet (cca 8x5cm) contains several markings for WWII Red Army AFV. It contains numbers, writings and several variants of stars and hammer and sickles. The numbers and writings are for particular vehicles (T-34/76, IS-2, ISU-122 and 152), the rest is for free use. A matter of interest is, that a part of this sheet has not to be used as standard dry transfers, but as a mask using the dry transfer technology. So if you want to have a red star on your model, you transfer the mask on the model, cover the surrounding area and overspray with the red paint. When dry, you remove the mask by gently dabbing with the sticky side of a small piece of low tack adhesive tape and the star is done. |
Instructions | Quite clear, it shows placing of the numbers and writings on particular vehicles and describes the possibilities of using the rest. It contains also instructions for working with dry transfers. |
General impression | Great stuff for those who don't like standard "wet" decals. I especially appreciate the hammers and sickles', because most of decal sets (both in kits and after-market sets) don't contain this Soviet symbol. My only complaint is, that SMA makes this set in 1/35 as well and this is a smaller copy, so there is 1/35 written in the instruction sheet and on the decal sheet as well, although this is 1/72. |
Note | Special thanks to Gordon from SMA-SSP for the review sample. |
