When I noted existence of
this decal sheet for the first time, I put it in the "must
have" category immediately. Now I'm holding it in my hands and
here are the first impressions. Relatively small sheet
contains decals for 43 vehicles, which were assigned to the
Soviets by the western allies during WWII. Here they are:
5 x M3A1 Scout 6 x M3 Stuart 3 x M3 General Lee 3 x M4A2 Sherman (75mm) 5 x M4A2 Sherman (76mm) 3 x Matilda 4 x Valentine IV 1 x Valentine VII 3 x Valentine IX 5 x Universal Carrier 2 x Ford GPA and one piece of Willys Jeep, M17 and M2 halftrack. With the exception of one Stuart, all vehicles are in the standard dark green camouflage. It's a pity, I would appreciate more than one winter camo. The decals are very well printed. I haven't tried them yet, but the work is in progress. I hope that my Stuart with writings "Suvorov" and "slomim chrjebjet fašistickomu zvjerju" (means "we'll break the backbone of the fascist animals") will appear in the gallery soon. |

Outstanding decal
set, which must make happy all of us, who build the Soviet WWII AFV. I would
appreciate if decals for M-10 or Churchill were also included, but maybe next
time (L-L vol. II? Do you read this, Alexey?). ACE offers one more outstanding decal set, the "war trophies", which includes the German AFV captured and used by the Soviets. I'm sure that review of this set will appear on this site as well. Finally I'd like to thank to Milan Vins, who offered me these decals not only for the review, but also for personal use. |
