German self-propelled gun
Marder II Ausf. D/E in 1/76 scale
The kit includes relatively large number of parts well cast
of light gray resin. You will find no bubbles or bubble-holes
on them. Some parts include fine flash to remove and most of
the fine parts and gaps and holes on bigger parts are covered
with fine resin film but it shouldn’t be a problem to clean
it. Some of longer parts are little twisted and have to be
straight in hot water. The hull is cast as one big piece with
big sprue on the base to remove. The chassis is cast in two
pieces only – wheels and tracks together. All mentioned
parts as well as other are usable without problem after
cleaning according to my opinion. Only in case you would like
to build more accurate model then I would recommend to reduce
edges of side and rear /in case you will build late version/
armor plates but primarily gun shield. In case you will decide
to build early version I would recommend you to modify rear
silk panel part and use real plastic or metal silk to get
better more realistic look of this detail. I guess that with little work you can complete out of this
kit very nice model of one of known German ”Marders”. This
version is based on Pz.II D/E chassis with ex-Russian antitank
gun mounted on. Official designation is 7,62 cm Pak 36(r) auf
Fgst Pz.Kpfw. II Ausf. D und E (Sd.Kfz. 132) “Marder II”. I would like to thank Milicast for delivery of free sample
