General Impression Usual Mirliton set, good for wargamers but employable by plastic modellers too. Moderate use of file and sandpaper is recommended. Careful painting based upon historical research will lead to better results. Difficult to mix with different figures in the same scale (Esci-Italeri, Revell etc.) because their build and look are slightly different. Good diorama potential.
Note This set includes militiamen and soldiers of the Repubblica Sociale Italiana (R.S.I. was Mussolini’s pro-German government in 1943/45); most of these troops were employed for anti-partisan warfare but, occasionally, also for fighting Allied troops (Anzio bridge-head, Garfagnana, Senio and Santerno rivers). Members of the Brigate Nere, Decima Mas, G.N.R., paras and marine infantrymen are included in this set. A couple of characters are shared with II GM 57 set and the variety of hats (helmets, peaked and Turkish caps, berets) and uniforms are typical of the late-war period. Currently there aren’t other R.S.I. troops available on the market but this set is a reasonably good option for plastic modellers.
