General Impression | Usual Mirliton set, conceived for wargamers but employable by plastic modellers and collectors as well. Use of file and sandpaper advisable. Careful painting will lead to good results. These figures are not easily mixable with different ones, given their peculiar build and look; but the MIRLITON range is extended enough to allow mixing different sets of Italian troops. |
Note |
No indication is given of the historical period involved but, judging by the uniforms, the 1943/45 is the most likely (Repubblica Sociale Italiana). The personalities shown in this set apart from Benito Mussolini (in overcoat, saluting) are probably Renato Ricci, chief of G.N.R. i.e. fascist militia (second from left), Junio Valerio Borghese, commander of Decima Mas (center) while the others are generic characters. One of them (second from right) could be used as a tankman while the other (first from left) is a generic high officer with peaked cap, also good for Italian Royal Army in 1940/43. These miniatures can be employed for parading purposes, especially in connection with R.S.I. vehicles such as A.S. 43, L-6/40, L-3, medium tanks and trucks. |
