KV-2 in 1/72 scale

Name KV-2 (Item No.72017)
Producer  PST, Belorussia
Packing pasteboard box, with action drawing of average qualities on foreside
Type of kit plastic model
Quality

Castings from varicoloured polystyrene are layed-out into five frames. Most of them are common with models of another KV type tanks from identical producer. New parts are parts of gigantical turret with 152 mm gun-howitzer. Quality of castings is above-average, with fine and trustworthy details. Outlines faith of model is very accurate. Extra pretty they are tracks from hard plastic. Like negative of kit I consider, that open is made only turret hatch, whilst driver's one is molded closed and large hatch on the turrat’s back is molded separately, but there is no hole in turret’s side and so who wants to make this hatch opened, and show interier of turret, he has to cut out this hole. Another mistake of this model is taht it contains no tools and accessories.

Instruction sheet Instruction in russian and english is very well made, detailed and well-aranged.
Decals Decalcomania is also very pretty, with good register and for two versions, but it’s varnish is somewhat glossy.
General Impression  Very nice looking model of this somewhat curious, but very useful tank.
Note If you’ve got no motivation for building this kit, I’m recommending to you to read a Polish publication “CieŸky czo¾g KW”, author Janusz Magnuski, editor Pelta Warszawa 1997, which in it’s beginning told about story from June 1941, when one damaged tank of this type near Soviet city Rosienie for more than two days stopped an advantage of whole German 6th PzDiv. This could be a good idea for a diorama too…..
