Sd.Kfz. 250/8 Neue Art. /Kit #TT003/

Manufacturer

Tracks & Troops, Belgium

Packing

sturdy corrugated cardboard box. Four small zip-lock bags holding the parts

Kit type

resin and etched brass

Instructions

The kit's instructions are the best I have seen with any resin kit so Tracks & Troops has obviously listened to modeler's complaints about lousy instructions.
Quality Very good casting with no air-bubbles found, clean-up off the pour plugs looks to be easy and straightforward.  Detail is sharp and with many small well cast parts.  There are about 54 resin parts and about 50 brass parts for the vehicle and nine resin parts & seven brass for the 75-mm gun

Overall impression & Note

The model appears very well done.  The engine roof and access doors are etched brass which will make installation of an engine easy.  The rear hull wall and door are also brass so the thickness is more in scale and allows the door to be modeled open.  Assembly will be complex because of the number of brass and resin parts, but made easier because of the great assembly instructions.  I recommend this ideally for intermediate & advanced modelers who want a good display model.

This model represents a light halftrack mounting a 75-mm howitzer for reconnaissance & infantry support.  This 1/72 scale model is the late, simplified version of the armored Sd. Kfz. 250 halftrack (while the old ESCI kit is of the original Sd.Kfz. 250 haltrack.  The vehicle shares a suspension and engine with the Sd.Kfz. 10 prime mover.

I purchased this model through Tracks & Troops.
