M3 General Lee "Kursk" in 1/72 scale
Name
M3 Lee „Battle of Kursk“ (cat. number
72806)
Manufacturer
Mirage
Hobby, Poland
Packing
Hard
paper box with nice boxart
Kit type
Injected
plastic, with some PE parts
Quality
Kit contains four
frames with gray plastic parts, vinyl tracks and some PE
parts. Plastic parts are very clear, with sharp details
and fine rivets (be careful when sanding!!!). Kit offers
three variants of 75mm cannon, but with the exception of
the boxart vehicle itis not clear, which machine was
equipped with which gun. It will be necessary to check
the reference database. PE parts are designed for side
doors, grill and the reflector guards. I was
disappointed when I saw the vinyl tracks, but to be
honest, it could be worse. I tried to glue two pieces of
their „frame“ together, it works both with using
superglue or contacta.
Instructions
Very
clear, contain vehicle history and painting and marking guide
Decals
Yes, for
four Russian vehicles and two captured by Germans. I have some doubts
about the yellow markings for three vehicles, but if you want them white,
use the ACE L&L tanks in Red Army decal sheet.
General
Impression &
Note
Haven’t built the kit yet, but
it looks amazing. Comparing it with the old Hasegawa kit Mirage
is unambiguously a winner, so it’s highly recommended. Thanks,
thanks and once more thanks to Milan and Mirage Hobby for the
review sample.
