Pz.kpfw.IV Ausf.F2

Manufacture: Revell 1/72, turret Hasegawa
Upgraded with Eduard PE

I used the Revell hull for the Pz. Kpfw IV F2 model. The hull was almost the same for the F1-H versions, so I decided to use Revell for my all Pz IVs. But because I don’t like the Revell turret, I used the Hasegawa one. These turrets are spare in all FLAK Hasegawa kits including the cannon. Building of hull and turret didn’t make any problems.I used the open hatches for driver and gunner’s interior. I took the turret completely from Hasegawa and placed it on the hull. I opened the commander’s hatch and made his seat. I added the pioneer tools and the spare track links to make the model more realistic. Eduard PE set is for Hasegawa kit, but can be used for Revell too. I used fenders and some other details. The decal set from Hasegawa is perfect and contains decals for Pz IV F1, F2 and G, so I will use it all. Decals are little bit thicker then they should be, but after using Mr. Mark Softer they applied well. Of course I sprayed gloss cote before applying them. The whole model is sprayed with Humbrol sand and shaded with oil paints. Then I used Revell’s matt cote and placed the model on the base. Its surface represents desert, so I used fine sand for this purpose. This tank represents the DAK vehicle.

The whole building took about 50 hours and was without any problems.
