Pz.Kpfw. III Ausf.N in 1/72
scale
Slovak army, 1943-1944
Camouflage &
marking: According to book ”Slovak army 1939-1945” by Charles V.
Kliment, by Mustang 1996 publishing This model represents one of five Pz. IIIs
bought by Slovak State in March 1943. These machines were the heaviest
tanks serving in Slovak army within WW2. Slovakia was interested in
better Pz.IV equipped with long 75mm gun, but these tanks weren’t
delivered because Germany didn’t trust in its small ally. German low
effort to cooperate was evident because they never delivered spare parts
for broken engine of one Pz.III.
All or minimally three of Pz.IIINs took part
in Slovak national rising on side of rebels. Unfortunately all of then
were damaged in first days of the rising.
If I remember well (I built this model long time ago) I had no
problems to build my ESCI kit, except the soft plastic tracks. The black
registration labels with white numbers (V-3058 - 3062) is missing on my
model because I wasn’t able to make my own decals when finished it,
but I have to add them now when I’m able to do it, sometimes…..
