Accessories: PART Photo-etched set to Einheits-diesel and MARS
accessories
The Einheits-Diesel from MAC represents
a German truck from the Panzer Group 1 (see the big K), from the 16th
Panzer division (see yellow symbol on the door), and the number 2
tells it's an
ammunition truck.
I had to cut off, all the front-truck, to insert the "new" entire
front, from PART. The PART set is very useful, if you really want to
make a nice 1/72 Einheits-Diesel. The only problem is the smallest
tiny photo-etched parts are almost invisible at first sight. I opted to make
another Eiheits version (PART includes only the canvas frames), with the
canvas on. I made the canvas with epoxy from Tamiya "quick dry". The
flag over the front and the canvas cab, where also made with
epoxie-tamiya. I airbrushed my truck with a first coat of Humbrol
nº1-grey primer. I choose the Humbrol 67-tank grey, and I gave a Matt
varnish coat of Vallejo Model air. The canvas receive a coat of
Uniform-grey Nº111 Humbrol. In the final the truck receive an
oil-washing, using Sepia, raw umber, burnt umber and asphalt colour. I
use Rembrandt and Goya oils. In the final, I airbrushed the truck,
carefully with Weathering-mud A-53 Pactra acrylics. I didn't use
pigments, like dry-pastels or Mig pigments. The phone post was
scratchbuild with Evergreen and white cooper wire. I do not have the
habitude to make plastic models (90% of my unbuilt kits are resins),
but the fun was all there. I had the chance to try for the first time
the Part photo-etched parts, and to make my first Mac model, or should I
say first ZV MODEL? |
