Russian Amfibious Tank T-37 in 1/76 scale

Model built from Giesber's Vickers Amphibious Tank /Kit #016/

Stephen G. Brezinski
Portland, Maine, USA

Original Vickers Amphibious Tank  was used in the Netherlands-East Indies.  This tank also influenced and spawned (gave birth) to the Soviet T-37 and T-38 amphibious tanks.  While the Soviet tanks were armed with an air-cooled machine gun, this model is armed with a water cooled Vickers machine gun in the small one-man turret.

The model assembled well.  It is composed of about 10 resin parts.  Surface detail is very good and sharp, especially all the rivets.  Clean-up was easy with a razor saw and sanding stick.

The model looks better in real life than in the photos which is not normal to me.

This model was mastered for Giesbers by Henk Of Holland who has photos of the original master at his website. http://home.wanadoo.nl/henkofholland/giesmodels.htm
