German Armoured Cars Adler Kfz. 13 & 14

Two MMS kits of these German light armoured scour cars are previewed here.

First I have to say that completion of these two kits wasn’t so simple and quick as I supposed. The basic reason are not the kits themselves but my poor experience with white metal kits. These two beasts are first metal kits I have ever built in fact. Parts cleaning and putty filling and sanding were the most complicated procedure for me. Especially because white metal is relatively simply to twist and its surface is very scratch sensitive /a nail is enough/. Finally I completed the kits after few hours /two weeks in fact/. Some scratchuilt details are added. The Kfz. 13 has new MG.13 including shield and the Kfz. 14 has new frame antennae including supports. Both of vehicles have new direction indicators.

I had to do some more work because I decided to place my model on small diorama. The sitting crew includes modified figures from one of MMS sets. The weapons came from same set. Two of figures have new heads one came form Milcast and one from SAM/SSP set. The park seats are scratchbuilt and the wall came from accessories set for railroad modellrs produced in East Germany many years ago.

I added some helmets on both of models as well as the map and headphones into Kfz.14. One figure /driver originally/ also got the map in hands. All together is placed on small diorama representing German soldiers relaxing in one of Warsaw parks.

The diorama is called "Chicken Thieves in Park" because vehicle nicknames /Marder - Marten and Luchs - Fox/ inspired me.J

In conclusion I would like to thank everybody who help me with references and mainly to colleague Mitte who printed decals for my ”Luchs” according to my order. The decals for the ”Marder” came from AFV decals set.
