Jagdpanzer IV (A) ”Zwischenloesung”
I would like to
introduce you my 1/72 scale model of German late WW2 tank hunter
Jagdpanzer IV (A). I decided to complete my model out of FSF resin kit
/Item TL 014/ becuase it’s according my info only kit of available kits
and conversion sets that offers hollow fighting compartment. The reason
why I do it is evident from the pictures below. I decided to complete my
model with driver’s and fighting compartment interiors. I used
slightly modified Extratech’s ”Driver’s compartment for Py.IV”
and lot of parts scratchbuilt of plastic, metal sheet and wire to reach
for it.
My plan’s to build vehicle destroyed during ”Ostrava operation” near village Koberice in April 1945. According to memoirs of Mr. Palicka who’s commander of T34/85 /turret No. 603/ that destroyed ”my” tank hunter, the Jagdpanzer ‘s hit two times and complete crew ‘s KIA. Here below how I created such a KIA crew figures. I used various parts of Preiser’s figure parts, Miliput and AGAMA acrylic airbrushing putty to complete them. For interior I prepared headphones scratchbuilt of wire and plastic, 75 mm ammo by Shatton and one MP 40 of one of Preiser’s set. I guess painter interior with figures looks very realistic, isn’t it? During completion of the model I closed detailed interior once for all. Practically nothing of it is visible trough open hatches but I and you know it’s really in!J Here below you can see my model prepared for final application of putty to clear few surface, for application of AGAMA airbrushing putty over all surface to solidify it and for final airbrushing with camouflage enamels. I airbrushed basic yellow and than hand painted green and redbrown camouflage colors/all acrylic AGAMA enamels/. Ambush was created using small triangular stamp cut out of rubber. Than all was airbrushed with varnish and decals printed on Alps printer /thanks to Sandman and Mitte for hlep/ were applied. Last step was patina. I used wash and dry brush techniques but I prefer less than too much!!! Completed model is placed on base with terrain. I tried to do all to get as much realistic model as it’s possible. Here below you can see the result of my long work! |
