Russian Heavy Car Zis E 134 in 1/72 scale
Name | Zis E 134 Russian Heavy Car /kit # 001/ |
Producer | AMC, Czech Republic |
Packing | carton box with colour picture on the top |
Type of kit | resin and etch kit |
Quality |
The resin is good quality with a smooth creamy finish and no air bubbles or flash. The spring units and wheels all have to be cut from heavy moulding blocks. The axles have to be built up from two halves with the halves cut from mould blocks which may make accurate alignment interesting. As well as the usual small components such as radiator grill the etch sheet contains the slatted upper sides and rear of the cargo body. Although neat this makes them too thin but they can be bulked up with strip glued over the etch. Similarly the tyre inflation pipes in etch could be replaced or the etch built up with thick superglue. The hardest part of this really unusual subject will be the glazing. |

General Impression & Note |
The prototype vehicle
appears to be a Zis 151/157 bonnet, cab and cargo/troop body, though the bonnet
appears slightly longer, but has a different radiator and sits on an 8 wheeled
chassis fitted with oversize wheels and balloon tyres. Overall a nice chunky
look to it. Recommended for those who like trucks (lorries as they used to be called) or just can't resist the unusual-if you can get one that is. |
