Armoured Car BA-64 in 1/72 scale

| Quality | The kit parts are cast from resin of unspecified colour in very good quality. There are nine resin parts – hull, chassis, five wheels, exhaust and part of the light. The rest of parts are made as PE – turret parts including the 7,62 mm DT machine gun, fenders, the front mask, tools etc. I didn‘t measure the kit (by the way, is there anything to measure on the 5cm model?), but after comparing the main parts with available drawings the shape seems to be correct. |
| Instruction sheet | Clear b/w instruction sheet contains brief history of the vehicle, building process camouflage schemes. Text is in Czech and English. |
| Decals | Kit contains decals for three versions – two for the Red Army and one captured by the Germans. I certainly haven‘t tried them yet, but if they are the same quality as other Extratech decals which I already worked with, there will be no problem. |
| General Impression & Note |
As usually, this Extratech kit is very nice
and I‘m sure that you can build from it a great model of this light armoured
car. My only complaint (but it is probably individual, someone could appreciate
it) is of the photoetched machinegun. I‘d probably prefer more “3D” solution. I‘d like to say many thanks to Milan Vins for collecting so many kits during the years, that he sometimes doesn‘t mind and gives one to his “poorer” colleague. |
