German BMW 326 Saloon Staff Car in 1/76 scale
Name | BMW 326 Saloon Staff Car (Item No. TVR 12) |
Producer | F.A.A., England |
Packing | Clear plastic bag |
Type of kit | Polyurethane resin and white metal |
Quality | This is a mixed kit, with the body in one piece resin block (so no interior) and the wheels, lights and others fittings cast in white metal. No noticeable warp or distortion was observable in the resin part. A little cleanup process is expected before assembly, and the lack of instructions, means that some care in assembly is necessary. As the complete bodywork is cast as a unique piece, one should "simulate" the windows, by painting them of a dark colour and inserting small parts cut in perspex or clear plastic. |

General
Impression & Note |
This kit is
not very good, being crude and inaccurate, in certain areas. Comparing
the model with the available information, particularly Geoff Lacey's
Plan G113, the kit is not up to scale, with several incorrections, which
are difficult to correct, particularly in the bonnet, grilles and hood.
History: These cars are used, not only as normal transportation cars [Pfz (o)], but also as staff cars, mainly from the "militarised" stocks of civilian cars. A well-known version, the 327 cabrio sport car, is conspicuous by their use in the hands of the "experten" Josef "Pips" Priller. These vehicles were used in years 1939–1945, so any colour scheme will go, including, in 1939-40, civilian gloss colours versions. |
