OT-34 in 1/72 scale
Name | Flamethrower Tank OT-34 |
Producer | Eastern Express, Russia |
Packing | pasteboard box, with action drawing of average qualities on foreside |
Type of kit | polystyrene |
Quality | Castings from varicoloured polystyrene are layed-out into three frames. One is common with models of self-propelled guns SU-85/122 from identical producer, part containing upper part of hull is eliminated. Another frame contains tank parts, it is hull, tower and details, the last one tracks. Quality of castings is above-average, with fine and trustworthy details. Outlines faith of model is very accurate. Equipment (tools, boxes) is made separately. Extra pretty they are tracks from hard plastic. Like negative of kit I consider, that whilst driver's cover is separate and has also details on inside, both covers on tower they are made along with part of tower and who wants to make them separately, he must to cut off them. On the contrary, as a positive of model I can value, that contains all necessary parts not only for OT-34, but also for standard tanks T-34/76 model 1942 and 1943, so it's possible to built anyone of these version from model. |
Instruction sheet | Instruction is the worst part of kit, it contains only lay-out of parts in frames and rather indistinct building progress. About model pattern, camouflage and placement of decalcomania here isn't not even word. |
Decals | Decalcomania contrariwise it's very pretty, with good register and for number of versions. |
General Impression | At last is on market quality model of this "armored legend". I can recommend it for every modeler ! |
Note | This model finally also satisfy all interested persons about armament of Czechoslovak tankists on Soviet front, because from this kit can be build also two most famous T-34 from armament of 1st Czechoslovak independent tank regiment from period of delivery of Ukraine in 1944, the tanks named "Lidice" and "Žižka". Model designated as T-34/76 mod. 1943 would had reputedly contained also decalcomania for "Lidice", extanted to this day in Museum of Czech army in Lešany, and modeler who'd like to build even most famous "Žižka", have to make the writing on tower by himself. |
