Praga AH-IV-R / R-1 in
1/72
scale Model
was released shortly after superb publication from MBI.
It's dimensions are spot on, but quality of parts is not so good. A
lot of cleaning and dry fitting will be required.
Biggest amount of flash is on the suspension,
which is molded in one piece with tracks for each side (only
halves of idler and driving sprocket are molded separately). Unusual
is verticaly divided turret. It's separation line
follows edge of hatch on top, but on the sides it
needs to be filled and sanded - take
care of delicate rivets there! Tools are molded separated, but quite
heavy. They will be better
replaced by some PE stuff (Extratech for example).
Czechoslovak company Praga
manufactured and exported
tankettes AH-IV in four variants to Iran, Romania, Sweden and
Ethiopia. Romanian army used 36 vehicles under
designation R-1. They fought on
Eastern front in 1941 and 1942. Few
survivng vehicles were used in combat
even after Romania switched sides in 1944.

Tiny model of this tankette
requires more work than is usual (remember, it's

type and it is highly unlikely, that
someone else will release it in near future.
